John Fleming

John has a deep understanding of the challenges leaders face in executing change. He brings a sense of compassion to helping senior teams fully comprehend what is needed to achieve full realization of their strategic objectives. John helps organizations take bold steps to shed their old skin often for the promise of “industry leading” status. An experienced practitioner specializing in the study of the human reaction to change, he believes that there is always a deeper place to listen.

Leading with a calming influence, John brings a centeredness to transformation teams. His steady presence serves as the invisible thread holding a team in balance during the most challenging of times. Connecting tightly with his clients and teammates, he builds strong bonds of trust -- something he learned from his time as a Naval Flight Officer.

Professional Experience

For more than three decades, John has guided leading health care, pharmaceutical, retail, manufacturing, packaged goods, financial services, government, and not-for-profit business leaders through transformational change. The industries he has served have been undergoing rapid, far-reaching change. The scope of his experience spans the entire lifecycle of major transformation, from clarification of strategy, to design and implementation, and sustaining results in the “new normal” of the future state.

Examples of John’s extensive experience serving as the lead change execution practitioner include initiatives involving: the transformation of a major pharmaceutical’s commercial model; the implementation of an enterprise-wide information system at a pharmaceutical plant of one of the top multi-national pharmaceutical companies; a major appliance manufacturer’s new human resources model leading to an enhanced employee experience; aligning senior executives of an international nonprofit housing ministry around their strategy to address the global shelter deficit for 1.6 billion people; execution of a new Fortune 500 home improvement retail model that shifted how the organization merchandized, sold, and provided new omni-channel services; and for the visioning of a large financial institution’s transformation.

John is a veteran with more than 30 years of honorable service in the U.S. Navy and more than 3,000 flight hours in tactical aircraft. He held a top-secret security clearance as an active duty member and as a reservist.  John has an MBA from Cornell University.
